Regulus — Privacy Policy

Regulus ("we", "us", "the app") is an invite-only social-knowledge platform. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, how we protect it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Regulus mobile app (iOS and Android) and the services at rgls.uk.

What we collect
We only collect what the app needs to work.

We do not collect precise (GPS) location, contacts, or payment card data. The in-app "mana" is a virtual engagement reward, not real currency.
How we use your data
- To provide and operate the app's features (accounts, posts, messaging, reputation, discovery).
- To send you notifications you have enabled.
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
- To understand and improve how the app is used (aggregate analytics).
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Service providers
We share limited data with trusted processors who act only on our instructions:
- Cloudflare R2 — media storage.
- Sentry — crash and error diagnostics.
- PostHog — product analytics.
- Expo — push-notification delivery.
These providers process data on our behalf and are bound by their own security and privacy commitments.
How we protect your data
- All traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS).
- Passwords are stored only as salted hashes — never in plain text.
- Access to production data is restricted to authorised operators.
Data retention
We keep your data while your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data is removed from our systems (some records may persist briefly in backups before rotation).
Your rights
- Access & correction — you can view and edit your profile data in the app.
- Deletion — you can permanently delete your account and associated personal data from Profile → Settings → Delete account, or by emailing [email protected].
- Withdraw consent — you can disable notifications and analytics-related permissions in your device settings.
Children
Regulus is intended for adults (18 and over). It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
International users
Our servers are located in the EU. By using Regulus you consent to your data being processed there.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced in the app or on this page, with an updated "Last updated" date.
